Today is my birthday. I don’t announce this to invite “Happy birthday, Ryan” comments, but instead to tell you about the greatest gift I’ve ever received. It’s a gift that keeps on giving, every moment of every day.
I have come to see the forgotten, so I may testify to their story back home. Deep in the sister’s eyes, I am awed by her faithfulness.

Dear Tired, will be a place where I tell you a story. A story of once tired arms and unfinished tears, yet also a story of courageous embers of hope that stir deep within all of us even when we can only see chaos all around.
My friend’s listening to the whispers of God helped affirm my listening too, which in turn helped both of us hear a roar from God that we may have dismissed if it were more overt.
I will never know what it means to fall to the bottom of a well.
Thankfully, few of us do. But that is an image that has been with me for more than 10 years. Few probably know that, so that’s why I begin “Dear Tired,” here.
